Bailey's Version: On November 15, 2019, I was invited to my friend Ella's twenty-first birthday bash. After the party, the girls and I headed to Rhythm &amp; Brews in T-Town to grab some drinks and listen to some music. I remember ordering a drink at the bar and seeing this boy staring at me from the other end, never losing eye contact. (He claims I stared first, that is not true! Don’t listen to him!) He was truly leaning so far over the bar to look at me, that I thought he might fall behind it. It DEFINITELY caught my eye. The night continues and it is down to just me and my friend Katie left at the bar. She leans over and tells me there is a cute guy staring at me, and, of course, it is that one boy from the bar top making eye contact once again. So, I walk up to him, noticing the water cup in his hand, and say "Is that water you're drinking?" My pickup line game = terrible. He said yes though, so I offered to buy him a drink----that's right ladies, I made the first move and I bought the first drink. The drink was of course a double vodka cranberry with a lime. Waiting for the drink, he leaned over and asked, "So what church do you go to?" And I don't know if you know this, but it is not every day you meet a boy who pursues Jesus even in a bar. That, is a rare find and I knew, in that moment, he was someone special. I was hooked. He set an alarm in my phone to wake me up the next morning (still have it saved in my phone). We went on a first date the very next day. The date lasted from 11 AM to 3 AM, a long time, but never was there a dull moment. We then continued to hang out every day following, and started dating after knowing each other for only two weeks. In that short time span, I felt everything for him. They always say "When you know, you know," and I knew after that night that he was a gift sent to me. I still know that. Who knew that I would meet a boy who would choose me the entire night before even having a conversation. A boy that would be the only one drinking water in a bar. A boy whose first priority, even in a bar, was Jesus Christ and how we served Him. A boy who continues to choose me every day. And to pursue Jesus above all else every second. Cheers to us William. The Girl Who Couldn't Stop Staring

Will’s Version: The true story of the night we met! It was just a typical Friday night with gorgeous Alabama Fall weather. My buddies, Garrett and Isaac, wanted to go the bar. So I suited up in my short shorts and sperries and prepped myself for a hype Friday night. I didn't really care where we went, just was happy to be going out! Garrett suggested that we go to Rythem and Brews, I guess he was feeling like a lil' cowboy or something (he's 5' 2" for reference). Initially when we got into the bar and were making our way to the other side, I felt something on the side of my head. I was like what the heck is that? I turn to look, and it's this little girl staring a hole in my head! So I stared right back at her! I won that staring contest and I kept walking to get my first drink of the night. So some time goes by and I'm standing at the bar getting my (insert number here, probably my second if I had to guess) drink of the night and there it is again! That feeling in the back of my head. A couple people down from me there she is again, staring. I was thinking, "oh she lost the first time and she's not going to win the second time!" So I stared her right back. This time I threw in some dance moves to make sure she wasn't playing around. I look in front of the people and then behind the line of people and then back to the front. She mimicked what I did and that's when I knew she wasn't joking around. As soon as I won that one, I vanished! I wanted her to think about me and about how I've been winning every staring battle she has started. So now I'm living rent free in her head for the rest of the night. Towards the end of the night I started drinking water and was ready to go home but Garrett and Isaac wanted to break dance for a bit longer. So I just sipped on my water and waited for them to get it out of their system. Not thinking anything of it, here comes this little cute girl that I've been beating in these staring contests all night! "Are you drinking water," She blared out at me. Baffled that I was drinking water, she offered to buy me a drink. I'm not refusing a free drink. We talked for a bit and I gave her my phone number and set plans up to watch football the next day and go to church on Sunday. Chalked it up as a pretty good weekend and the rest is history. ----- Will
