Please, if anything, most of all, google is your friend. Do some slight research before going so you're not going in blindly. We usually rent a car at the airport with the major rental companies but they are pricey for 4-5 days It was close to 450+$ USD. It is cheaper to get a rental outside the airport and I have seen videos of people doing it, but i haven't experienced it. When you rent the car, please take videos and pictures of current damages it already has just for your record. Driving around cancun-playadelcarmen-tulum is not bad for experience drivers. It's actually easy. Yes, they have rules. All you need is a valid US license and the insurance they provide. If you opt out of the third part insurance and rely on your credit card rental coverage, it is more of a headache since you have to pay for the damages and their damages; after that claim it on your card with proof.

In every hotel there will be many different brochure that has activities. Xcarte owns many parks from riding atv's to waterparks. MOST OF THE PARKS IF NOT ALL OF THESE ACTIVITIES ARE ALL INCLUSIVES. That means transportation and food is included. Our first time was Xel-ha by xcarte and that was basically a big water park by the ocean. You can snorkel with the fish, drop from the highest tower or zip line.

Keep in mind most of these activities are all day.
