Baylee was living in Kansas City at the time while Matt was living in Iowa Falls. It was by complete chance that we met that night in June, the stars lined up perfectly for us to be in the same place at just the right time.


Matt was on a Bachelors outing in Kansas City for Blake, our best man. Baylee just so happened to be out with her good friends Laura and Nolan. That night started as nothing special for Baylee, she had been to PBR in KC many times before, but for some reason this night Laura and Baylee decided to say Go Hawks to anyone they saw wearing U of I gear. Of course Matt was wearing an Iowa shirt.


We spent the rest of the evening together. We talked, we laughed, we danced, and little did we know we were falling in love. It didn't take long, the next day in fact, for Matt to ask Baylee out on an official date and after that to be his girlfriend.

On December 22nd 2019, Matts 25th birthday, we went for a bike ride on the High Trestle Trail. After a quick 20 miles, Matt got down on one knee while looking at out over the beautiful valley and asked Baylee to marry him. She of course said yes.
