If your spending a day or two in town and need some little things to check out here are some surrounding areas to maybe look into and I also mentioned some good food options!
Sunrise Park Resort
Sunrise is a ski resort but they also offer different activities during the summertime. They sometimes have a zip line open and just built in a little mountain coaster. They also offer fishing, kayaking, and canoeing at the sunrise lake.
Greer Lake Picnic Area
Greer is such a pretty place to take a hike or to get into the mountains more. Very small area but has a few lakes and creek!
Rendezvous Diner
I love this little diner the food is so good and such a cute restaurant! Fun fact, I made sure to bring Isaiah here one of his first times visiting my hometown
Avery's BBQ
This is some of the best bbq. Also half the restaurant is one of the main bars in town!
Tin Can Coffee
The best coffee shop in town! Make sure you check their hours though!
Junk & Java
This is my next favorite coffee shop which also is a little antique shop. Super cool atmosphere.
Foxfire at Alpine
This half outdoor half indoor restaurant has good food and is a good time. Usually has live music and great pizza
South Fork Day Use Area
This is a really pretty area that has campfire areas and many hiking trails. Great for a picnic or to hang out by the stream!
