Our Wedding

Oh man, where do I even start our story?We have known each other since Kindergarten and literally grew up together (while also living only 3 minutes apart). AJ was always the cute chubby kid and I was the girl who always had a smile on her face. We ended up looping with our First grade teacher, Mrs. Klausmeyer, so we spent a lot of time in the classroom together. Through the years we continued to have mutual friends and have classes together. We became better friends in Middle School, which is where our story really starts.In 8th grade, I had to go to Kansas City to have spinal fusion surgery. The recovery was rough and I was out of school for 6 weeks. However, my sweet math teacher Mr. Shobe volunteered to be my home-bound teacher and brought all my homework to me at the house. He also took it upon himself to be protector when I came back to school. One day he showed the class my post-op X-rays and updated everyone on my condition. At this time he explained that I would have a lot of restrictions upon my arrival, so he asked for a volunteer to carry my things and walk me to and from class. From what I am told, A.J.'s hand shot up. The rest is history. We didn't start seriously dating until Sophomore year of high school, even though people always told us we were bound to get married one day. After a silly break-up (you know- typical high school things), we both dated other people in hopes of making each other jealous. Well it worked, so at the first chance I had to get him back I made my move. Shout out to Torri Vang, who called me the second she learned of A.J.'s breakup.A.J. and I both quickly realized that we didn't want to live life without each other and fell madly in love. We have been together ever since.Going from seeing each other every day to every other weekend when A.J. went to play football at Butler was a weird transition, but we were dedicated to making it work. I definitely never expected him to then move 11 hours away to live out his dream of playing Division 1 football, but he did. As his biggest fan, I was both heartbroken and proud, but once again we vowed to figure it out. Long-distance is definitely not for the faint of heart, but it made us appreciate each other even more.A.J. is finally coming home for good this Spring, and I cannot freaking wait.We look forward to spending more time together and making up for all our time spent apart. When A.J. asked me to marry him, with the help of lots of people (including the amazing Mrs. Klausmeyer), it felt like the moment I had been dreaming of since middle school.I didn't ever think I could love him more than I did back in high school, but our love for each other continues to grow every day. We cannot wait to finally get hitched and start our lives together, and it means the world to us that all of you will be there to celebrate with us.
