A July day in Cuba is where our scene is set
Where Our Man in Havana and the beauteous Becca met
They'd both espied an ad online for group adventure fun
For sand, sea, sights and salsa in the sultry summer sun
And so signed up for Cuban jaunts with travel mates unknown
(for being communistic isn't easy on your own).
And so they went around the isle from beach to bay to town
And found a shared delight in teaming up and getting down
(A reference to dancing, for the folks not in the know; or for those whose puerile minds are going where they shouldn't go.)
Each day through laughter, frisbee, talk, their bond grew stronger yet
Until one night, post-salsa, their lips eventually met.
From that night on, come rain or shine, they've spoken every day
And neither time nor oceans deep have stood in true love's way (thank you, Delta and BA!)
They've kept on adding chapters to their transatlantic bio
With pages written in Peru, in Paris (and Ohio!)
In Scotland, on a sun-blessed roof a question then was staged
And with a "yes" Becca and John - "Team Bacon" - were engaged.
And soon, they'll celebrate through vows, their love and their romance
Then, full of hope, these best of friends will dance to life's next dance.
