Brendan and Becca met in Spring 2017 at Roger Williams University at a rugby social. Brendan carried Becca through a mud puddle and ruined his favorite pair of vans, but still went home that night and told his friends he had found a girl who was “wife material.” Apparently, Becca telling Brendan she was going to be on the cover of science magazines one day made her “wife material.” Brendan and Becca went along with their lives until both ended up in Bristol, RI for the summer. Brendan texted Becca to ask if she wanted a Dunkin’ iced coffee (of course) in early July 2017 and they have talked every day since. Soon after that Brendan took Becca on their first date to hibachi where Becca promptly spilled her whole drink on the hibachi grill, but that did not deter Brendan. On one of their next dates to a concert at Fenway Park, Brendan forgot the tickets and they had to take the T all the way back home to get them, but still their relationship persisted and became official in October 2017.

Brendan and Becca met each other’s families soon after that; Brendan’s Dad met Becca for the first time right after she had broken her nose playing rugby (great first impression). Over the next few years in college, Brendan and Becca supported each other at rugby games and Becca did Brendan’s school assignments. Brendan and Becca quickly realized they both love to travel and took their first trip to Fort Myers Beach and shortly thereafter to Punta Cana.

Following graduation, both Becca and Brendan moved back home with their parents, but spent weekends together on the Cape, in Worcester, MA, or traveling with trips to Jamaica, Montreal, Nashville, and more. Brendan & Becca survived the challenges that covid brought and in 2021 Becca decided to attend graduate school in San Diego, CA at UCSD. Brendan came along for the ride (literally); they drove cross country over 12 days, visiting 13 states, encountering 2 major shut down highways, and way too much traffic. After being together in a car for 12 days straight days, Becca and Brendan decided they could get through anything together.

Becca and Brendan began their life together in San Diego which would not be complete without their 2 cats, Chowder and Cali. They live just blocks from the beach and spend their time with friends, walking the boardwalk along the bay, playing rec softball together, hockey/volleyball (Brendan), running (Becca), and sometimes working :). After Becca completed graduate school in June 2023, they took a trip of a lifetime to Japan to celebrate and Brendan proposed at Chureito Pagoda, overlooking Mt Fuji. It was incredibly beautiful and Becca of course said yes. Brendan and Becca continue to love their life in San Diego, but are so excited to return to their college town where their love story began.
