Ben and Becca met their sophomore year at Plant High School in 2006 at a homecoming dinner in the backyard of a mutual friend's house. They were the first to arrive to the gathering and made small talk while they waited for other guests to show up and really didn't talk much after that. At this point in time, they did not know that they would be reconnected their senior year of high school in an English class.
After a few months of dating during the end of their senior year, they made the decision to stay together while Ben went off to University of Virginia and Becca stayed in Florida to attend Florida State to see how the long distance thing worked out. And it worked, very well in fact! Becca made herself at home (one summer, quite literally) each visit to UVa, loving every second she was there with Ben and all of his friends. Ben came to visit her at FSU as often as he could, even surprising her once! After four years of weekend visits, inseparable holidays and summers that seemed too short, Ben got a job in Seattle and Becca decided it was time to live in the same place as Ben and they both moved across the country together.
They have been very happy in Seattle for three years now. Surrounding themselves with great new friends, adopting two dogs and buying a house, it is safe to say that they have found a wonderful home. They miss their family and friends on the East Coast but are constantly recruiting to have some move over to the West Coast with them!
