Serendipity struck twice! We first met in our apartment gym in Durham, but busy schedules kept us from being able to see each other. About a month after we met, we ran into each other at the elevator and decided to have an impromptu lunch date.

Our first picture together, taken at a Carrie Underwood concert! We hadn't officially started dating, but Daniel got free tickets and thought this would be a good way to impress Becca. ;)

Daniel asked Becca to be his girl on the inside of a hand-crafted origami heart on taco night at Daniel's place.

We bonded early on over our shared love of Harry Potter. A museum in downtown Raleigh had a Harry Potter themed Halloween party...you bet we were there!

We took our first big trip together to Disney World and Universal Studios right before the pandemic. (Boy, are we glad we got this trip in when we did!)

We celebrated our 1st dating anniversary in Wilmington, NC. Daniel got to show Becca all of his favorite spots from college (Daniel went to UNCW for undergrad).

We spent the pandemic getting in a whole lot of quality time. From picnics in the hammock (yes, that is pineapple on our frozen pizza), to playing pickleball nonstop, to going on our first backpacking trip together...we tried to spend as much time outdoors as we could!

We spent a week hiking through Utah's state parks and traversed the Narrows in Zion. We learned we both have a keen sense of adventure and a love of the outdoors. The wilderness must be explored! (caw, caw!)

We went on our first international trip together to Mexico and crossed off seeing one of the old wonders of the world. Becca got pooped on by a bird...which someone somewhere said is supposed to be good luck.

We thought about moving to Spain and even visited Madrid to find a neighborhood...and then decided Madrid was not for us. But we still had a blast!

We celebrated Christmas in the Dominican Republic (and thought...should we move to an island???)

We got engaged in Costa Rica at the base of the Tenorio Volcano! It was and is, by far, our favorite vacation. Daniel completely surprised Becca by proposing halfway through the trip (she thought if he was going to propose, he would have done it on the first couple nights!) She was ecstatic :)
