Flashback to the pandemic when the only way to meet people was by swiping through dating apps. Becca and David both happened to “swipe right” during Memorial Day weekend of 2021 which officially began their love story. After 4 long weeks of messaging back and forth on the app and what felt like endless scheduling conflicts, the two were finally able to meet in person for the first time. On June 27th, David texted Becca asking her if she wanted to go boating with him. Eager and excited, Becca obviously said “yes!” and jetted down to Diversey Harbor to finally meet ~what she didn’t realize at the time would be~ her future husband!


In what Becca describes as “the most perfect first date”, the two spent the entire day boating on the water and getting to know each other, which soon led to a second date a few days later. Summer 2021 was an absolute blur filled with lots of boating and exploring the city together. Fast forward to August 19th, 2021, when Becca woke up to a beautiful orchid from David, asking her to officially be his girlfriend. Their love story continued (quickly!) as they spent the next few months looking for apartments in the city and on January 19th, 2022, they moved into their first apartment together. The next year was filled with laughter, love, and tons of memories living together in the city.


Then 2023 came along and brought even more excitement as David and Becca headed to California for Spring Break. On what Becca thought was just going to be a fun vacation up and down The West Coast, turned into the best trip of her lifetime, when the two ended up in Napa Valley with David down on one knee. The rest of 2023 flew by as the two returned from their engagement trip and spent the next few months celebrating and starting to plan for their big day.


As they began searching for wedding venues, they couldn’t stop thinking about “Chicago Fall in October” which led them to book at their dream venue in the city they call home. Fast forward to today, as 10/5/24 gets closer and closer, where these two start the next chapter of their love story, becoming “Mr. and Mrs. Rizzio” in a room filled with all the people they love the most.
