Make it a Weekend
We really appreciate the people who are traveling to celebrate with us. If you are coming from out of town and would like to turn your trip into an entire weekend experience, here are some of our favorite activities that we would recommend trying out.
Wilson's Orchard & Farm
Wilson's Orchard is one of our favorite date spots. In the summer, you can go berry picking, pick your own flower bouquet, walk around the apple orchard, go on guided tours, ride a tractor around the orchard, eat locally grown food at the stands and the restaurant, and visit the market.
The University of Iowa School of Music - Voxman Building
Check out the building where we met and began our love story. It is a beautiful place to relax after walking around Iowa City and enjoy some music coming from the practice rooms!
Hickory Hill Park
Hickory Hill is one of our favorite places to walk around and enjoy nature. It is a 190 acre forested area with beautiful walking trails.
Roxxy
Roxxy is one of our favorite bars in Iowa City! It has a really cool vintage look and they play the best throwback music.
Lake Macbride State Park
This state park is another one of our favorite places to be in nature! There are beaches, campsites, and beautiful hiking trails, and even a fossil gorge.
Oasis Falafel (Iowa City)
Oasis is one of our favorite restaurants. They have amazing falafel, pita sandwiches, and hummus.
