At age 17, Bell and Michael went on their first date. She was looking for a man to marry. He was looking for a prom date. They went to rival high schools, though for them, that meant twice as many football games to attend, twice as many school dances, and twice the fun.

They went on all sorts of dates. On their first date, they watched the sunset at the Fairhope pier. He asked if she wanted a sweet treat. He might as well have asked for her hand in marriage. She said yes.

They ate ice cream and talked for hours, only to do it again and again. Eventually, they looked back and 8 years had passed.

Two homecoming dances and two proms.

Four years of two different universities.

One rabbit, then two.

Two college graduations on the same day.

Two cities eventually became one.

A road trip to New Mexico turned into a proposal.

All of the days, all of the miles, and all of the love Michael and Bell have shared since their first meeting as teenagers is being celebrated on April 26, 2025.
