What is the dress code/what should I wear?
"Dressy casual" seems to describe our vision for wedding attire. It is an outdoor wedding with a grassy reception area and decomposed granite walkways, but we still want the event to feel relatively dressy! For a dressy casual wedding, men can wear a collared shirt with khakis or slacks; no suit and ties are required, but feel free to wear them if you'd like. For shoes, dress shoes or loafers will do. Women can wear separates or dresses at any hem length and in more casual materials like cotton or linen, if desired. For shoes, women can wear heels, wedges, or dressy flats. (Just note the grass and choose accordingly!)
What will the weather be like this time of year?
September, the first month of the fall, in Templeton, is still a warm month, with average temperature varying between 59.9°F (15.5°C) and 83.3°F (28.5°C). It is possible it will be warmer than this and into the 90ºs-100°s since these are averages, but it will cool off as the sun sets. With an average relative humidity of 50%, September is the least humid month in this area.
Are the ceremony and reception taking place at the same location?
Yes! There is a beautiful ceremony area at the back of the property with an arch and 2 very tall oak trees and then the reception will take place in the grassy area by the barn. Unfortunately the barn is not available to go in and is currently being used solely for storage. There is a concrete pad for dancing after the reception too!
What will guests be expected to do after the ceremony?
After the ceremony, the bride and groom will be taking pictures with family nearby for less than an hour or so. Guests can head straight to the cocktail and/or reception area where we will be serving finger foods and beverages until the grand entrance of the wedding party and meal service.
