What can I expect for the Welcome Drinks?

We will be doing drink tickets (a change from before if you viewed this previously). Please find Mia and/or Ben to get your drink ticket and say hi! The Yacht Club has an indoor and outdoor space. From 6pm-9pm there will be live music from a band called Hot Mess. We did not hire them so we hope they're good (lol). The bar closes at 10pm so you can turn in early for your beauty rest before the big day!

Will the wedding be indoors or outdoors?

Both the ceremony space and reception space are indoors. The ceremony is in a Catholic church, and the reception is in a historical building, located about a block or two away. We will be processing over, so if you can, expect to walk about 4 minutes between the locations. See below for the map.

Is there parking at either venue?

There is street parking (residential road) and a small lot at the reception space. If you're able, please arrange to walk to keep the lot available for our wonderful vendors and not overwhelm the street parking scene for the neighbors. Guests are encouraged to secure accommodations in Apalach so they can walk from their hotel to the wedding festivities.

What should I do during the day on Saturday?

There are plenty of local shops, restaurants, cafes, and breweries/bars to enjoy during the daytime downtown. There are also museums nearby. You may also be interested in a beach day over at St. George Island! The white sand beach and beautiful weather will be hard to pass up-- just a 20ish minute drive from downtown Apalach!

Will there be a full Catholic Mass at the ceremony?

No, we will be celebrating the Liturgy of the Word (readings, psalm, Gospel). The ceremony is expected to take about 30 minutes (I think).

What attire should I pack?

For the Welcome Drinks, feel free to wear something casual! Linens, breathable cottons, and flowy materials are all the rage. Ladies may want to wear sandals or low heels. Lads may feel comfortable in a button down or polo -- no need for a sport coat or suit jacket!

For the ceremony, please bear in mind that walking from the church to the reception venue is encouraged, as we will lead a procession over. Attire is cocktail/semi-formal, and comfortable shoes may be a wise choice.

Don't forget a bathing suit if you're planning a beach day!

What's for dinner?

We are having a local BBQ staple-- Paul Gant's Bar-B-Que, pillar of the local community and famous for their smoked delicacies. Often referred to as "the best BBQ you'll ever have," their family recipes have been passed down for generations.

Another local joint, Tamara's Cafe, will be providing the cocktail hour hors d'oeuvres.

For those who do not eat meat, please make a note on your RSVP. A delicious vegetable paella from Tamara's has been arranged for your enjoyment.

Is there an open bar?

Indeed! There will also be non-alcoholic beverages available: cucumber-lime-mint infused water, sweet tea, strawberry lemonade, and soda.
