Every great love story starts somewhere. Ours? It began with a swipe... and a subscription. Let’s be honest: Ben swiped right on Nicole (naturally), but the match wouldn’t have happened if Nicole hadn’t paid for Premium. We like to say she invested in greatness. Nicole maintains it was for “research purposes.” Ben insists he’s worth the subscription. Both are probably true. Our first date? Hmm... let’s just say it was more “interesting character study” than instant fireworks. Nicole left thinking Ben might be better off as a friend — after all, his life looked more like a choose-your-own-adventure book than a five-year plan. But Ben, being the charming optimist he is, didn’t give up. Slowly (read: immediately), he won her over with kindness, laughs, and a surprisingly strategic board game approach. Then came lockdown. Ah, romance in the age of government-mandated 5km limits. No sunset beach walks or candlelit dinners — just brisk walks, takeaway coffee, and competitive boardgames that may or may not have required relationship counselling. But somewhere between the laughter, deep chats, and shared playlists, something beautiful grew. Fast-forward a little: two homes, four teenagers, and one very lively household later, we somehow turned our blended chaos into something that feels a lot like home. Our “frat house” may have been loud, full, and occasionally missing a sock or two, but it’s overflowing with love, laughter, and bad dancing — especially after wine. These days, we’re powered by good food, questionable singing (looking at you Nicole), and a shared promise to keep choosing each other — even when the dance moves get dodgy and the wine fridge mysteriously empties overnight. Ah, the age-old Melbourne question: Drive or brave the tram? Here’s the scoop. Public Transport: We highly recommend it. Aunty Kim’s is well-connected to all corners of the city. Ceremony: Starts at 1:00pm sharp. Reception: Rolls on from 2:00pm – 6:00pm (yes, there will be dancing and plenty of food). We recommend arriving by 12:45pm to hug a few humans, and soak up the vibes. There’s no late-entry side door and no dramatic walk-in if you’re running behind — so best not to cut it fine.

👗What’s the dress code?

We call it “wedding smart” — think the races, minus the fascinator (unless that’s your thing). No denim. No hoodies. No “I’ll just wear black jeans and a nice shirt” energy. Gentlemen: collared shirts required. Bonus points for a blazer. Ladies: anything that makes you feel fabulous and doesn’t require emergency safety pins. 🍽️ Will there be food?

Absolutely. And plenty of it. We’ll be serving a rolling feast of finger food, so no one will be left clutching a canapé and wishing they’d stopped at Macca’s on the way. In short, NO! No confetti, no bubbles, no glitter, no biodegradable rice. We’re keeping it clean and classy — and Aunty Kim’s has a no-sprinkle policy (which honestly, we support — no one wants a champagne toast with a side of soap residue). Bring your joy, not your party poppers.

👶 Can I bring the kids?

This is an adults-only celebration. As much as we love your little legends, this one’s for the grown-ups. Think of it as a mini holiday. Book the babysitter, dust off the clothes that aren’t covered in yoghurt, and come enjoy an afternoon off duty.

💃 Will there be dancing?

Oh yes. There will be music, there actually will be a LIVE MUSIC as well, thanks to a super cool (Nicole's words) dude and a guitar, and there will definitely be moves of questionable quality. We’re big believers in dancing like nobody’s watching — even if your mates are filming it for the reception slideshow.

Honestly? We’ve got everything we need — especially each other (aww, we know). But if you’d like to give a gift, we will have a wishing well. No pressure, no expectation, we are just wanting you to come for a good time!

Absolutely — take as many photos as your heart desires (just keep phones down during the ceremony, please!).
