Over three decades ago, Ben said to Rhodora,.. "Whoever I marry in a church will stay with me forever." Forever is almost here, and we want to share our forever with you... Ben and Rhodora were an unlikely couple. He was a street-smart, enterprising individual determined to succeed, yet deep inside, he had a big heart. She was a sheltered, God-fearing lady, the eldest of four siblings, and a straight-A student, who knew nothing but responsibility. Both worked in San Francisco in adjacent buildings. Ben was at the historic Ramada Hotel, working the graveyard shift that ended at 7 AM, while Rhodora started her day at 7:30 AM in a modern office building, now the Dolby headquarters. Their mornings were like clockwork. Ben left work as his shift ended, and half an hour later, Rhodora emerged from the underground transit line in front of the Ramada Hotel. One morning, Ben's relief staff finally convinced him to stay a few minutes longer to see the girl who ascended the transit escalator every morning at 7:24 AM. From that morning on, it took Ben a few days to gather enough courage to strike up a conversation with Rhodora as she rushed to make it to her desk by 7:30. His first attempt involved standing by a Victorian-style streetlamp and stepping out to catch her attention. He opened his mouth to greet her, but no words came out! She looked up at him with annoyance and walked around him to continue her day. No, that wasn't where the fairytale started. However, it did ignite a challenge in Ben's mind to get to know this stunning and elusive young lady. Fortunately for Ben, there was a Starbucks inside his hotel, and she needed her daily (sometimes more than one) cup of joe. After several glances, their interest was piqued, and when their eyes finally met, the chemistry was undeniable The rest is history... No, the rest was a prelude to a life of unending gratitude. We can't wait to celebrate our journey, our forever with you Ben and Rhodora

The Empowered Foundation embodies a lifelong dream of Rudy’s: to uplift his community in Masinloc, Zambales.   Over 40 years ago, Rudy co-founded a nonprofit organization, Masinloc Association of California, Inc. (MACI), dedicated to supporting the town, with a particular focus on providing children with the opportunity for a better future.   Members of MACI’s efforts funded medical missions and maintained the town's church, yet the ultimate goal of advancing education was never fully realized.   This new foundation is committed solely to education, reflecting a deeply held belief shared by our grandparents.   Despite being farmers, they ensured that all eight of their children graduated from college, firmly believing that education is the most valuable gift, one that lasts a lifetime and cannot be taken away.   Rudy shared this conviction and envisioned a future where education could empower the youth of Masinloc.   The Empowered Foundation aspires to extend this gift to as many children as possible, fostering a community that thrives by paying it forward.   Starting in Masinloc, our vision is to expand this mission to underprivileged communities far and wide, creating lasting change through the power of education.
