An App, but not a dating app....Instagram!

It was 2018 and Ashley was doing her nightly scroll of Instagram when something caught her eye. She stopped at a photo posted by the lovely McKenzie Minor. The photo was from her now husband's birthday party, and in the front row, down on a knee was Ben.

Something about his smile and "hang ten" intrigued her. She immediately messaged McKenzie to find out who this handsome man was. She responded with "Ben Scurry". Ashley immediately went into stalk mode! McKenzie sent another message with Ben's numbers. Ashley said wait! Find out if he's single and interested (aka send him a cute picture of me).

An hour goes by and McKenzie said she reached out to him and he was okay with her giving me his number. Ashley took a deep breath and typed the scariest, but the best text of my life. After an agonizing wait, HE RESPONDED!

They learned about each other and shared memes and jokes. Ben was currently living in Athens and Ashley was in Atlanta. Ben was planning to move to Atlanta so they decided to meet for brunch. Brunch turned into a walk at a local dog park, and that walk turned into their first kiss! They didn't want to say goodbye, but Ben had to get back to Athens for an early shift of work.

They continued to text and plan another date, and that's when Ben shared he had gotten a job in Atlanta and would be moving. Coincidentally enough, the apartment he signed was 10 minutes from Ashley's apartment! She helped him move, and they spent days and weeks growing their relationship, and a month later they were boyfriend/ girlfriend!

Unfortunately, the time living close to each other was short lived; Ben told Ashley early on about his dream to go to PA school and the day finally came when he called her saying he got accepted to LMU in Harrogate, Tennessee. They were both excited but knew it would be a challenge. They made the most out of their last month together before Ben moved 4 hours away.

Ashley visited Ben once a month and on occasion, he came back to Atlanta to see her. They got through the stress of job changes, hard tests, long distances, and a Pandemic! After two years of packing bags for short weekends and long facetimes, Ben finally graduated in July 2021. Finally, they were reunited in Georgia! Ben found a job and they moved into an apartment together in September 2021.

They survived household chores, busy work schedules, and a new dog! They resigned their lease a year later and on October 29th, 2022 Ben got on a knee and asked Ashley to marry him. T was right by their side, and she obviously said YES!
