Ben and Cassie met at HEB plus here in Victoria. Cassie was waiting for a job interview, and Ben was on a break. Cassie was understandably nervous for her interview, and Ben helped calm her down by telling her shed do great in the interview. Luckily, Cassie got the job, and they quickly became good friends. In 2021 Cassie and Ben started to consider the possibility of a relationship after both of their previous relationships had ended. They made it official in 2022, and Ben proposed to Cassie on April 6th, 2023.


Ben proposed by taking Cassie to San Antonio for his birthday/anniversary trip. They went to the Japanese Tea Garden. It was pouring rain, and they both huddled under a gazebo. Ben then told Cassie to turn towards him and to her surprise she found Ben holding out a beautiful ring!
