Ben and Kelly met in the beginning of 2015 when they were 16 and 17. They were instantly head over heels for each other. They spent as much time as possible together and with each others families, who they both were very close with. In September of 2016, Benny surprised Kel with a proposal in which he involved both of their families! Kelly said yes and they were both insanely happy imagining being married and starting a family, despite being so young. Unfortunately, the couple ended things in June of the next year. They both spent their time apart living their lives but thinking of eachother often.
In February of 2023, Kelly decided to take a chance and send him a message! Ben responded and they decided to meet up for dinner a couple weeks after. Nerves and fear got the best of both of them for a while afterwards and they didn’t talk as much again. Until November when Benny texted Kel! They went on a couple dates and both knew very quickly it was real! They’re so happy and sometimes feel like there wasnt even any time lost. However, in their time lost, they were really able to realize how strong and real their love is and always has been.
Less than a month after Ben texted Kelly, they decided they didnt ever want to be apart again. On January 18th (almost exactly eight years after their original dating anniversary), Ben gave Kelly her old engagement ring and said he didn’t have her ring yet but he was tired of waiting and wanted to be engaged! The couple was ecstatic to tell their friends and families and also start planning!
On February 3rd, with the help of Kelly’s sister (and Benny’s #1 wingman), Kansas, a surprise engagement party was happening at the Mexican restaurant!! Kelly was so shocked and surprised to see so many of their friends and family! She turned around and Benny was down on one knee with the most beautiful ring she could ever imagine!!!
Benny and Kel are unbelievably thankful that God brought them back together. They’re so excited to celebrate with all of you. And theyre both so indescribably happy to be finally marrying their first and truest love!
