Benjamin and Deborah first met in 2017 while both attending Valdosta State University (Valdosta, GA). Through the VSU Music Department, Benjamin and Deborah crossed Greek organizations (Phi Mu Alpha Sinfonia Fraternity of America Inc. & Sigma Alpha Iota International Music Fraternity for Women) where they often collaborated. Through various fraternal activities and events, Benjamin and Deborah quickly became close friends and even "favorite brother/sister" in each respective Greek organization. In Spring 2019, Benjamin and Deborah went on their very first bowling date. They each enjoy the competitive and light-hearted nature of the sport (fun fact: Ben's favorite movie of all time is The Big Lebowski).

After graduating from VSU, Deborah moved to Tallahassee, FL to complete her Master's Degree in Music Therapy, beginning their long-distance relationship. It wouldn't be until Summer of 2022 that Benjamin and Deborah were finally reunited and living in the same city- Lubbock, TX. Before moving to Lubbock, TX, Benjamin proposed to Deborah asking her to be his wife and begin their lives together. On April 28th, 2024, Benjamin and Deborah will commit their lives to each other just 2 short days after their 5 year anniversary of dating.
