Beret and Tyler met the old-fashioned way. Tyler slid into Beret’s Instagram DMs and the rest is history!
Beret and Tyler met and fell in love in Rochester, MN while working at opposing news stations. Beret was the weekend anchor and reporter at KTTC and Tyler anchored the 6 and 10 newscasts at KIMT. They both lived in the same city for about four years before even meeting! While the pair knew of each other, they didn’t formally meet until the summer of 2022. (Although, Beret believes they both attended one of Brooke McKivergan’s Halloween parties. Tyler says no.)
Beret started noticing Tyler in the beginning of the year when he would casually message her on Instagram. His first message was in reference to the "Berries and Cream" Starburst candy commercial, IYKYK. Eventually, Tyler mustered up the courage to ask Beret out on a date. She said yes, although she had goals to move back to the Twin Cities and didn’t really want to date anyone in Rochester. Their first date was at Five West in Rochester and was full of great conversation and laughs.
They went on a few dates over the next month and became official July 3, 2022. Tyler said “I love you” for the first time the next day. Beret was slightly weirded out but quickly caught up. They became inseparable, even when Beret moved up to the Twin Cities. For the next year they’d spend every weekend driving back and forth from Rochester to Chaska. Over the next year, they’d share lots of laughs, take countless road trips to see friends, visit numerous breweries and take unforgettable trips—including a Leone family trip to Italy!
On August 25th, Tyler pulled off the most EPIC surprise and proposed at Lake Minnewashta. He got Beret’s entire family involved to lip sync and dance to "One Thing" by One Direction. It was a dream proposal Beret had as a pre-teen and he made it come true! After he popped the question, he coordinated all their friends and family to surprise her at Maynard’s in Excelsior. It was perfect.
