It was a Ball in celebration of Saint Louis King of France. All the ladies dressed in gowns and the men in their suits. English country dancing was being taught and partners were being swapped. At the end of one of these dances, we found ourselves paired up and decided to continue dancing together. We spoke briefly and parted ways until later in the night when we found ourselves dancing together again. Bernadette, in Cinderella fashion, managed to lose a shoe that was wrapped around her foot while dancing. We spoke some more and decided to attend a rosary event the next week.

The next week, September 3rd, Joseph asked Bernadette to dinner after the rosary and the rest is history.
