FAQs

What is the Dress Code?

The ceremony and reception will be indoors, but since our wedding is during the winter in Utah, we recommend bringing warm clothing or layers to stay comfortable when moving between spaces. This is a formal wedding. Please dress accordingly—think suits, dresses, or something equally polished. A few hard rules: No jeans, no flip-flops, and absolutely no white. Bernadette is the only one wearing white, and if you show up in it, you will be gently but swiftly redirected.

Are Photos Allowed During the Ceremony?

We love you, but we kindly ask that you put your phones away during the ceremony. We have hired a professional photographer, and we would rather see your smiling faces than a sea of phone screens. That being said, please feel free to take as many photos before and after the ceremony!

Are Children Allowed to Attend?

No, this is a 21+ event. As much as we love your little ones, this is an adults-only celebration. Take this as your chance to enjoy a well-deserved night off!

Are Plus-Ones Allowed?

If your invitation states that a plus-one is provided, then you are welcome to bring a guest. If not, attendance is by invitation only. If their name is on the invitation, they are invited. We appreciate your understanding!

What Are the Dining and Beverage Arrangements?

Dinner will be buffet-style, offering a variety of options, including dairy-free, gluten-free, and vegetarian selections. We want everyone to enjoy a great meal, so there will be something for everyone. To celebrate with you, we are covering drinks for the evening with a limited bar tab. Once the tab reaches its limit, the bar will transition to a cash bar. Enjoy a few drinks on us as a thank-you for celebrating with us, then plan accordingly for the rest of the night.

What Are the Transportation and Parking Options?

We have arranged hotel block rooms for the wedding weekend, and shuttles will run from these hotels to the venue. Please refer to the Travel tab on our wedding website for details on the blocked hotels. If you are not taking a shuttle, there is on-site parking available. We also encourage guests to coordinate with friends and family to carpool. Final transportation details will be sent out closer to the wedding.

What Happens If I Arrive Late?

Try not to be! The ceremony will begin at [ceremony start time] sharp. If you arrive late, you will be asked to wait outside until the ceremony concludes to avoid disrupting the ceremony.

Where Are You Registered?

Yes! [Insert Registry Link] We are also saving for our honeymoon and future home. If you would prefer to contribute to that, we would be incredibly grateful. Consider it an investment in our marriage—and in ensuring Bernadette can avoid the struggles of economy class alongside Mat, a 6’5” human giant who requires extra legroom and an adequate snack supply to make it through long flights.

Can I Share Photos from the Wedding?

Yes, but please wait! Take all the photos you want, but hold off on posting until we share the first ones. We want to enjoy our wedding before it is all over the internet. We will also be using [Insert Wedding Photo App] so guests can upload their pictures for everyone to enjoy. Once we give the go-ahead, post away!

When Will Speeches and Toasts Take Place?

If you would like to give a speech, we kindly ask that you wait until the pre-set toasts have been given and dinner has finished. No one wants to be stuck between a heartfelt speech and a plate of untouched food. We appreciate your enthusiasm and can’t wait to hear what you have to say—just at the right time!

Will There Be Song Requests?

No. We have carefully curated our playlist, and we will not be taking requests. The music will start off light and romantic, but by the end of the night, expect middle school dance rap and early 2000s bangers. If that is not your vibe, well… that is unfortunate. The playlist will continue, and so will Bernadette—on the dance floor. And no, before you ask, it will not be the Irish dancing she used to do… unless she has had enough drinks. At that point, Mat’s only job will be to prevent a sprained ankle before the honeymoon. Pray for him.
