Almost all Greek couples end up meeting through Greek dance, church, or summer camp. We did all 3!

But it all really began in 2016...

After a grueling weekend of performing at the Augusta Greek Festival, the entire dance group decided to go out and celebrate. When the night began to come to an end, we all stopped in to grab some food and Theo bought Bess's delicious late night philly cheesesteak. He knew it was a small gesture, but hoped it was going to be his first signal to her that he was interested. What better way to a woman's heart than late night food?

The trip ended and the couple continued to talk off and on until Theo finally mustered up the (liquid) courage to ask Bess out. After her initial shock, she said yes, and they went on their first date to Ippolito's (Theo still makes fun of her for running late) and a second date atop the Ponce City Market Roof to enjoy drinks and carnival games. This blossomed into a 3 year relationship full of fun, love, travel, and unforgettable memories with friends and family.

In early 2020, Theo began to concoct a plan to propose but COVID-19 got in the way. With the help of both his family and her's, these co-conspirators kept a secret for almost 3 months. He managed to secretly ask her father for his blessing, go buy the ring, and plan the proposal all without Bess having any clue what was going on. On May 30th, 2020, Bess and Theo went up to The Roof at Ponce City Market to have an early birthday celebration for Theo with Clea and Chris Kanelos (co-accomplices and carriers of the ring) while our families waited around the corner. While overlooking the Atlanta skyline where they shared their first kiss, Theo dropped to one knee and asked Bess to marry him and she said YES! The entire family then came rushing out of hiding just as the proposal finished to congratulate and begin the celebrations!

We look forward to the months to come of our engagement, but even more for a lifetime we get to spend together.
