If you know us, you know that we don't really like talking about ourselves or our "story," but since you asked...

Matt and Beth met as many couples meet - they worked together. In 2015, Beth started working at UW-Madison School of Music and Matt began his Masters degree in trumpet performance. Matt's assistantship included performing with the Wisconsin Brass Quintet, one of the faculty ensembles Beth was to manage as part of her job. After some months of flirtation, Matt finally made his move.

A beer at Karben4 turned into several drinks at Alchemy. Matt and Beth clearly had a lot to talk about and couldn't help but want to spend more time together. Although their relationship wasn't exactly permissible in the eyes of the school's administration, Matt and Beth started seeing each other every day. They would meet for lunch or Matt would visit Beth's office. Pretty soon, everyone was very aware of the relationship that was quickly becoming very serious.

Matt and Beth have been together for less than three years. However, in this short time, they have accomplished so much together. They support each other's success and comfort one another during difficult times. Together, they are so much stronger than they are as individuals. Here are just some of the achievements and adventures they have seen in the 34 months they have been together:

- Matt won his position as Principal Trumpet of the Quad City Symphony. (Beth forced Matt to take this audition even though he didn't want to)

- Beth ran her first (and probably last) Marathon in Chicago.

- Matt and Beth adopted two kitties: Alice and Watson.

- Matt and Beth went on their first international trip together to Mexico. This was Matt's first time out of the country. Beth ate 29 tacos.

- Beth was accepted into the MBA program at the Wisconsin School of Business's Bolz Center for Arts Administration.

- Matt graduated from his Master's at UW-Madison Mead Witter School of Music.

- Beth purchased her first house. Matt and Beth moved into it together.

- Beth left her job at UW-Madison to start school full time.

- After a horrible, incurable illness, Matt and Beth said goodbye to Watson the kitty. They welcomed Abbey into their house a few weeks later. Alice and Abbey are now best friends.

- Matt began his Doctorate of Musical Arts degree at UW-Madison and continued performing with the Wisconsin Brass Quintet.

- With the help of Dave, Matt and Beth gutted their kitchen and started on a long, 6-month remodel. Dave is the best.

- Matt proposed to Beth in Central Park during a short trip to New York City in January of 2018. They celebrated by eating cronuts, going ice skating, and seeing a Broadway show. It was awesome.

- Beth started working at the Wisconsin Youth Symphony Orchestras as a Development Manager.

- Matt performed as soloist with the Quad City Symphony. He kicked ass.

- Matt was promoted to Sergeant in the U.S. Army.

- Matt and Beth went camping in the Porcupine Mountains. They almost got eaten by a bear. Ask to hear this story - it's good.

- Matt started a new job as Trumpet Instructor at UW-La Crosse.

- Beth sold her house. Matt and Beth bought their current house in Monona together. They're not going to move ever again. Probably.

- Beth graduated with her MBA with a specialization in Arts Administration.

- Matt graduated with his DMA in trumpet performance and produced an amazing CD of solo trumpet works entitled In Memorium...

- Beth left her job at WYSO to begin a new position as Director of Development at Overture Center for the Arts.

Through all of these accomplishments and adventures, they have had incredible support from family and friends. We are all stronger together and we are very grateful for the network of amazing people that we have. Thank you for being part of our lives and our wedding.
