Our story began, last August 2014 with a wedding. I first caught a glimpse of Landon sitting in front of a me, to the left with his family. I elbowed my sister and mentioned how 'cute' he was. Later, Landon noticed me while I was serving chips to each wedding guest. Later, my mom and I met Landon's mother, and immediately hit it off. We left the wedding, wondering about this mysterious man, named Landon Thompson and curious if we would ever meet him.
After three months of my mom's prayers, Landon and I met at a Christian young adult conference where he was speaking on evangelism. After meeting for the first time, officially, I knew we would get along.
As the Lord designed it, Landon and I started working together, and four months later called to ask my dad if it would be alright with him if he started a relationship with me. After a meeting and receiving my dad's blessing, Landon called me. I eloquently said, "Yeah!!," in response to his question of us starting a relationship.
During our courtship, we quickly went from being friends to best friends. I fell in love with him, his passion for Christ, his heart for people, and his servant leadership. We ended each night with prayer and spent many hours in the Word together. Naturally, beautifully and then, all at once, I fell in love with Landon Thompson.
After courting two months, Landon and I went to the beach with family. After a sweet walk, beautiful Bible study, and great conversation, Landon read me a poem he wrote. At the end of the poem, he got down on one knee and asked...
"So, dearest Bethany, will you marry me?"
I screamed and of course, said yes.
And then I marveled at God's sovereignty and majesty.
I marveled at how He brought two lives together. I marveled at how He knits hearts together and answers prayer. I marveled at a new, amazing, and exciting journey that God had/has in store for us, and for His wondrous love He shows and gives, in order that we can show that to each other.
I am excited to see what the Lord has in store.
Our prayer is that Christ will be magnified and that He will use us together for His glory alone.
"To God be the glory, great things He hath done!"
Landon and I want to thank each and every one of you for being a part of our special day in some way. We are so blessed to have you all in our lives and humbled by the support you have shown us. We praise the Lord for our family and friends who have been in prayer for us through our friendship, courtship, and engagement.
Our prayer is that Christ will be glorified and honored in every way possible, not only in our ceremony and reception, but also, in our marriage. We are asking the Lord that He may use us to honor His name, make Him famous, and proclaim His goodness.
Thank you all once again. Thank you for allowing the Lord to use you in our lives. Thank you for the hours of counsel, the calls, text messages, cards, services, and much more. We are blessed to call you friends and family.
