Hello friends and family! Thanks for checking out our wedding website.

First, let me preface this page by saying, stop reading now if you don't like love stories because this one is a drawn out kicker.

Allow me to introduce the essence of our relationship, currently known as 'B squared.' Brandon and I first met at the one and only Virginia Military Institute (VMI). Yes, we were both captivated by the motivating life of luxury VMI had to offer.

If you knew me at VMI you knew I had a BIG, FAT, crush on Brandon that started well into my freshman (rat) year. For a good while I played the same excuses over in my head as to why it wouldn't work out between us. There's no way he's into me. My hair is just long enough to touch my ears but not my collar, I have a mouth full of braces, and my eyebrows haven't seen tweezers in ages. Not to mention he's way out of my league.

As a Keydet (VMI mascot, also southern slang for the word 'cadet') there were many times I thought that Brandon may have had an interest in me, but a lot of those times it was really just my brain fantasizing that interest. Like the one partner workout Coach Fazioli had us run at the neighboring Washington & Lee outdoor track. It was a tag team workout of 12 x 400m each. The rest time in between was whatever your parter could run their 400 meters in. The catch was that the top 7 women cross country runners were paired with the top 7 men cross country runners, but in reverse order. Fastest woman with the seventh fastest man, second fastest woman with the sixth fastest man, etc. Brandon and I were the 6th-2nd pair respectively, and we happened to 'win' the workout that day. I still think from that moment forward we were just meant-to-B!

Another time was when Brandon ran a personal best of 14:55 in the 5k, indoors, at the Marshall University Invitational. I vividly remember running over to him after he had finished, exhausted, sitting on the ground with most of the men's team surrounding him. After a few of the men had congratulated him with handshakes and fist-bumps, I went in for my turn with the same level of excitement and a tad bit of giddiness. The best thing I could come up with to acknowledge his gutsy performance was the cliche 'high-five', but it was by far THE BEST 'high-five' I've ever given because it wasn't your normal 'high-five.' It was a ten fingered, two handed junction that met perfectly and lasted approximately 3 seconds longer than any traditional low or high-five. It was just a second shy of a hand hold I kid you not. And I will remember it forever!

The last time (not the third time because obviously this story page doesn't have the capacity for me to disclose the other thousand times I fantasized over Brandon's interest in me) I thought Brandon liked me was when we'd find ourselves at a table in the mess hall- just the two of us. The quality 'date' time wouldn't last long but of all the times we were able to chat, I always felt the conversations were genuine. Especially the one where he would give me advice on how to tackle the 10k-5k double on the track at conference championships.

If you've made it this far into the story you're probably wondering, when did Bethany FINALLY stop fantasizing and did Brandon EVER really have an interest in her like she thought? Well, I'm about to tell you! May 16, 2017. The day Brandon graduated from VMI was the day our relationship was truly spoken into existence.

As the over-the-top, corny, person that I am, I decided to gift all the graduating senior cross country members a scrapbook of running photos and memories over the years that I knew them at VMI. I was a junior at the time and grew very fond of all our seniors- especially Brandon, or 'B. White' as everyone called him. I had everyone on the team sign the scrapbooks and/or include a message thanking them for their contributions to the team and bidding them farewell. My roommates at the time, and current bridesmaids Julia Logan & Haley Scott both hinted (more than once mind you) that I should write a note in Brandon's scrapbook leaving my cell phone number and signing it XOXO. Of course I was all too nervous to abide by their suggestions, but the moral of the story here is indeed the scrapbook and the note I wrote him.

While on the road home to Hudson, Ohio after graduating earlier that day, Brandon opened his scrapbook, flipped through all the pictures, and read all the notes. He claims that once he got to my note he thought to himself I think I like this girl. And the rest was history! Just kidding, there's more.

About a month or two later we found ourselves on a 10 day snap-streak and a text chain that went back and forth well into the wee hours of the night for fear of falling asleep before the other. I was completing research at VMI for most of the summer and decided to visit Brandon for a weekend in Fort Knox, Kentucky (a mere 7.5 hour drive from VMI) where he was stationed for a few weeks to help out with advanced camp.

That weekend happened to be Brandon's birthday weekend, and a weekend that changed our relationship for the better because a couple weeks after that our relationship had progressed to 'Facebook official' and we haven't looked back since!

You'll have to take this 'love story' with a grain of salt of course. Although it's known that a woman's point of view (POV) is always superior, Brandon's story of how 'B-squared' came to be may not be as romantic, or should I say dramatic.

No matter the POV, I do know that I love Brandon more than I could even begin to describe in this text block. I also know that God has blessed us beyond belief ever since our relationship began. The distance hasn't been the easiest, but together, with the most supportive friends and family, our relationship has prospered. We are completely grateful and humbled by the love you have shown us and we CAN NOT WAIT to celebrate our marriage with you!

With love,
Bethany and Brandon
(soon to be B. White - squared)
