It all started one Sunday afternoon in 2019 when a box truck crashed just down the street from their homes. Chris being a firefighter went to go help the driver, while Bethany was just being nosy and wanted to see what happened. They were introduced and realized that they were neighbors (literally shared a fence). As Chris was hosting a few people at his new house that day, Bethany, her mom Wendy and her brother Garrison all went over to meet the neighbor. They enjoyed looking around, meeting everyone and playing with the puppies. Bethany wanted a picture with the puppy but had just gotten a new phone and it was updating on the home computer. So Chris offered to take the picture. This was a sly move as now he had to ask for her phone number to send the picture to her. As Bethany, Wendy, and Garrison walked back down to their house, Wendy says to Bethany "You're going to date the neighbor." Bethany replied rather quickly with "Eww that's gross."

Two weeks had passed and Chris reached out to Bethany to hang out and watch a movie. This launched regular hang outs, a road trip to Montana, various nights of playing pinochle, camping trips, trips to Vegas for bowling, family and friend get togethers, and dart nights.

After 4 years together, Chris asked Bethany to marry him on the beaches of Cancun.
