The famous mountain town is located just half an hour from Sweet Heart winery. With plenty of things to see and do, you may want to plan on making a trip out to Estes while you are here. Don't forget to stop at the Stanley Hotel to see the place that inspired Steven King to write The Shining. You can reserve a tour or even stay overnight in the haunted hotel.
Although the Rockies may experience snow storms in April, there are still ways to enjoy the park at this time of the year. Trail Ridge Road, the highest paved road in the America, will be partially closed. However, you will not need a timed entry permit to enter the park and you should still be able to drive part of the way up to some scenic lookouts. Accessible destinations also include Bear Lake and Lilly Lake. The park also offers plenty of trails for those feeling more adventurous. Rocky Mountain National Park is about 45 minutes west of our venue, just past Estes Park. Be sure to bring your national park pass and a warm jacket!
Located directly across the road from Sweet Heart Winery, this is a nice trail to get out and stretch your legs for a couple hours. Enjoy views of the foothills and the front range.
