Chickamauga is primarily known for the Battle of Chickamauga, a pivotal Civil War battle fought in northwestern Georgia on September 18-20, 1863, resulting in a Confederate victory and the largest battle ever fought in Georgia.

Located on the western edge of Lookout Mountain, Cloudland Canyon is one of the largest and most scenic parks in the state. Home to thousand-foot deep canyons, sandstone cliffs, wild caves, waterfalls, cascading creeks, dense woodland and abundant wildlife, the park offers ample outdoor recreation.
Ruby Falls is an underground waterfall in Ruby Falls Cave, located at the end of an approximately 85 foot tall recessional gorge within Lookout Mountain, near Chattanooga, Tennessee, in the United States. The cave is commercialized with electric lights, paved foot trails, and an elevator for access. The waterfall may only be visited by guided tour.
