Born and raised in Indianapolis, Indiana Michael moved to Miami in the Summer of 2012 for his residency in Pediatric Anesthesiology.


Betty, born in Cali, Colombia, moved initially to Miami as a teenager, and had returned in 2011 after being away for three years in law school.














Despite living in the same city for a year and a half, Michael and Betty did not know each other. It took their mutual friend, the internet, for them to finally meet in early 2014.














Michael and Betty had so much fun going out to dinner, going to the movies, snorkeling in the Florida Keys, visiting the most Magical Place on earth (Disney World), embarking on a Caribbean cruise, attending the greatest spectacle in racing (The Indianapolis 500), running a half marathon, scooping sea shells in Sanibel Island, making snow angels in the Rocky Mountain National Park, and taking long walks with Betty's (now their) dog Rocco. ... They went from complete strangers to inseparable companions and fell in love.














In 2016 Michael completed his Residency and moved to Washington, DC for his Fellowship in Pediatric Anesthesiology. The year being apart strengthen their relationship and cemented how much they loved each other.












After a year of being apart they decided they would go together on their next adventure to Chicago.

Soon after relocating to Chicago, and under the guise of going to celebrate his birthday, Michael got Betty to get dressed up for a day in the city.

He took her first to The Crystal Gardens in Navy Pier, a place full of palm trees, which he knew she loved. Michael found a secluded place in the garden, got down on one knee and asked Betty to marry him. There were tears. ... She said Yes!

Then he whisked her away to a carriage ride followed by dinner at the Signature Room in the top floor of the John Hancock building.

It was a magical day.

Betty and Michael absolutely cannot wait to share their love and exchange vows in front of their closest friends and family (AKA you!).
