Filipino Traditions

Unity Candle - The lighting of the unity candle is a symbol of God's presence at the union, and two souls and families coming together.


Coins - The tradition of exchanging coins, or arras, during a Filipino wedding ceremony symbolizes the couple's mutual prosperity and oath to provide.


Veil - The veil symbolizes oneness and protection for their marriage.


Cord - The cord symbolizes eternity and unity, and walking the world as equals.


Polvoron - Shortbread cookies made with toasted flour, powdered milk, butter, and sugar.

Italian Traditions

Bomboniere - Small gifts to serve as a reminder of the wedding day spent together and a way to thank the guests for their presence and gifts.


Confetti - Five sugarcoated almonds to show the marriage is indivisible, and symbolize the bittersweetness of marriage and the beginning of a new life.
