Okay, the short answer is no...for now. Brazil continues to debate that fact, and it is possible that by 2026 a visa will be necessary. The good news, it's mind-blowingly easy to get, and if you need help with the language, you can reach out directly! Here's the link, just in case you want to cover your bases.
Where in Brazil will we be staying? What's around?
You will be staying in Curitiba, in the state of Parana. Things to do there to come.
How do we get from the airport to the hotel?
Uber is the easiest way to get around, and don't worry, you will have guides! André and his family have generously offered to help people as they arrive, ride with them, and ensure we all get where we need to go! I will be a checkpoint as well. Teamwork, my countrymen!
What's the best way to pay for things?
Local currency is reais (pronounces hey-eyes), and can be exchanged at the Denver International Airport
How will we get from the hotel to the wedding?
There will be a shuttle taking people, or you can Uber!
Brazilian Contacts!
As this is André's home town, both his family and a few of his friends will act as best points of contact for local perspective and questions. Find their contact info below:
Alceni (André's mother)
Flavio (father)
Uady (prnounced Wa-jee) and Nate (produced Na-che)
What's the weather going to be like? What's the wedding dress code?
June means winter! But not like you're used to. No snow to stress over, no big puffy coats needed, but you will want your scarves, your hats and your sweaters. Light jackets, too, and be ready for rain.
As for the wedding, my CO formal comrades, it will be more of the "formal" formal variety. Nothing so extravagant as "black tie," but cultural standards do ask for getting gussied up. Slacks, button ups, dresses, fancy jumpsuits, dealers choice. Cool and classy.
