Balboa Park is a historic urban cultural park located adjacent to the San Diego Zoo and only a short drive from downtown. It was the site of the 1915 Panama-California Exposition which celebrated the completion of the Panama Canal, putting San Diego on the map as a major U.S. port city. Enjoy the ornate Spanish colonial architecture and the many walking trails, museums, restaurants, and shops nestled into this 1,200 acre park while taking advantage of the beautiful weather San Diego is known for!
Located a short hour drive away from San Diego are the rolling hills of Temecula, Southern California's premiere wine country. Be sure to plan extra time into your travel weekend to make the trip to this beautiful landscape and enjoy tasting wine from the nearly 50 wineries nestled into the Tuscan-style scenery! If you find yourself with some free time on Saturday morning before the wedding, be sure to stop by the Little Italy Farmer's market! The Mercato offers streets lined with produce, gourmet food, and craft stalls sure to cater to everyone!
