11 years ago we decided to commit our whole hearts to one another and begin a family. We had a notary friend sign our marriage license one night after a business meeting. We drove down to St. Pete Beach. It was supposed to be a magical full moon Florida night. We set up a blanket and some candles in what turned out to be an incredibly windy and misty night. With beach sand and Gulf of Mexico water flying all around us, we looked into each others eyes and said our quick short vows to each other. And just like that, now married, we hurried, got our stuff and got our wet, sandy butts back in the car and headed home. Just after midnight we got home, had a little champagne and a cupcake, and promised to each other that when we made it ten years, scratch that, eleven years (see pandemic) we would celebrate "Our Wedding" with our loved ones and throw a fabulous Celebration of Love. It was fun to look ahead and dream about that night, picturing our future children dancing, all dressed up....what would they look like. We hung this dream up on our bedroom wall and it turned into something that our children, Aziah and Patience, have been looking forward to their whole life.
We chose to take this celebration to Cape Cod because we have had truly memorable times there together and also as a family. On our first trip together to the Cape, we found out we were expecting our son, Aziah. Then in 2018, on vacation in Woods Hole, Mr. Billyo surprisingly on bended knee, proposed to me after a delicious lobster taco lunch at the Quicks Hole Taqueria. This sealed the deal that the best place to renew our vows would be in Falmouth.
This Celebration is a milestone for our family and we our so excited to create many more years of love and laughter together.
