We met in July 2022 when we started Chiropractic school. We were in the same friend group within the first month of school but didn’t see each other much other than the occasional lunch break or walk on campus.

I remember Mikayla saying one day “so tell me about yourself.”

I remember Blain looking like Morgan Wallen with his mullet haircut and asking him what score he got on his exams.

It wasn’t until December 2023 when I asked Mikayla to go surfing (not to mention it was 50 degrees and cloudy). She thought it was with a group of people; turns out it was just the two of them.

After the stress of our first board exam in January was over, we started to hang out more. Our first time hanging out in February was to bake gluten free, dairy free desserts at home. We hung out all day when it was supposed to just be for a couple hours and I thought to myself “I could be with this girl forever!”

We’ve been inseparable since!

I asked Mikayla to be my girlfriend in March. I waited to propose since everyone said it was too fast but after I couldn’t wait any longer, I had a ring made in the summer and proposed in November.

Mikayla loves Blain’s love for Jesus, the way he truly cares for her and pursues her, and his fun, outgoing personality.

Blain loves Mikayla’s heart for Christ, her compassion, the love in her eyes when she looks at him, and dancing with her in the kitchen.

We can’t wait to spend the rest of our lives together.
