Cole was sitting in a pub in London on June 20, 2019 when he received a message from his mom and her friend Brenda (Blaire's Aunt) asking Cole to go on a date. With nothing to lose, he decided to reach out to Blaire. Five days later at Pour in Brookhaven, Georgia, Cole and Blaire met for the first time. After hours of talking and laughing, Blaire and Cole both left that date with a feeling that was the last first date either of them would ever go on.

“It wasn’t love at first sight exactly, but it was familiarity. Something like oh, hello, it’s you. It’s always going to be you.”

On November 20, 2020, Cole and Blaire had planned to go out to dinner at The Palm in Atlanta and while the thought of a proposal crossed her mind, Blaire had no idea what was in store...
While at dinner, Cole's dad had a bottle of champagne brought to the table and though it seemed odd, Blaire took it as a nice gesture to kick off the date night and Cole began to get nervous that the whole surprise was ruined...
Fast forward, Cole and Blaire made it through a lovely dinner and headed home with Blaire feeling certain that there was nothing unusual about this date night.
When they came home from dinner, the main level of the house had been transformed with Blaire's favorite flowers (peonies), candlelight, and some champagne Blaire had gifted Cole early on in their relationship.
After many tears from Blaire and a heartfelt proposal from Cole, Blaire said YES and the celebrations began.
