We met through the dating app Hinge. At the time we were both working and finishing up our masters degrees and dating was not a top priority for us. We had dinner at the beach with very little expectations and in a whirlwind of odd circumstances met each other's families in the first week of dating. The COVID pandemic made things weirder when it started just 2 weeks later.

Still interested in each other after the world shut down, we had to be creative with dating. Of course we went through the standard movies and comedy shows on netflix, but as we were unable to go out for sushi we decided to buy a kit on amazon and try our hand at being sushi chefs. On one of our many beach trips, David built a fire for us. There were plenty of paddle boarding trips as well, until David popped a hole in one and sunk it.

David already had the goal to run a 5k every month of 2020 and Blaire joined in. Each month they ran a different virtual 5k. It’s a good thing they spent a lot of time running because most of the dates were cooking for each other.

After a trip to South Carolina to meet Blaire’s best friend and her family they began to toss around the idea of moving. A few months later we decided to move to Greenville with the help of Blaire finding her dream job and the power of David working from home. On their one year anniversary they were officially South Carolina residents. While the pandemic shut down the world, it meant that they had to spend more time together and ultimately they are both thankful they did. It accelerated their relationship for the better.

Since moving, our adventures include an engagement: David got a new job, we traveled to Greece, totaled a car, bought a car, and bought a house.
