Will I Experience Altitude Sickness? What happens? How do I avoid it/recover from it?
You may - symptoms can range from headaches, dizziness, fatigue, low appetite, vomiting, shortness of breath or rapid breathing.
How to Adjust to Altitude
Water! Water! Water! - start increasing your water consumption a couple days before arrival and then continue increased consumption as soon as you land at the airport!
1. Drink Lots of Water. As you gain altitude, your body tends to lose water and salt faster than you're used to....
2. Reduce Your Exercise...
3. Get Enough Sleep. ...
4. Limit Your Alcohol Intake.... alcohol will hit your system faster at the higher altitude
5. Increase Your Potassium Levels....
6. Protect Yourself From the Sun. ...
7. Consume More Calories....
8. Consider Taking Gingko to improve blood circulation & brain function
The best foods and drinks for acclimatising to high altitude
* Water.
* Complex carbs like oats.
* Iron-rich foods like spinach.
* High-antioxidant foods like berries.
* Potassium-rich foods like bananas.
* Lean proteins like lentils.
* Garlic and ginger.
* Coriander (cilantro) and cocoa.
What is semi-formal?
It can be interpreted differently by region. East Coast considers it dark suit and tie & cocktail dresses, Midwest can consider it sport coat, no tie, even khakis.
All are fine! But if you'd like a little more guidance, aim for something that's fancier than business casual but not full on black tie formal. Think dress pants, cocktail dresses, suit coats, button ups, dress shoes, heels, wedges, flats, etc.
What will the weather be like?
Colorado Junes can range anywhere from 50-80 degrees.
Pack a jacket, bring layers - especially if you plan to get out and explore! There's a high chance of thunderstorms so pack accordingly, but you'll also want to pack for warm summer weather-- shorts, t shirts, tank tops, etc. Colorado is also known for having a dry climate, so be generous with your moisturizer!!
