If you're new to the area and want to explore downtown Kansas City, we highly recommend the Crossroads Art District. Our favorite spots there include Mildred's (breakfast), Green Lady Lounge (jazz bar), Up-Down KC (arcade games/bar), Lidia's (Italian), Tom's Town Distilling Co., Casual Animal Brewing Company, Crossroads Hotel Lobby Bar, Extra Virgin (Mediterranean tapas), Fiorella's Jack Stack BBQ, Loews Hotel Lobby Bar, Parlor (multi-restaurant bar), Messenger Coffee + Ibis Bakery, Boulevard Brewing Company (brewery tours), El Patron (Mexican) and the National WWI Museum and Memorial.
We also recommend exploring the Power & Light District! Our favorite spots include Blue Sushi, County Road Ice House (BBQ), Guy Fieri's Dive and Taco Joint, Howl at the Moon (dueling pianos), Sinkers Lounge (indoor mini golf), Tinsel Tavern (Christmas-themed pop-up bar), and Nighthawk (live music/bar)!
Kansas City's Union Station is beautiful during the holidays! We recommend checking out the Holiday Reflections exhibit, making a reservation at Pierpont's Restaurant, or taking a photo by the large Christmas tree! Garage parking is available for a fee, but we encourage you to ride the free streetcar that will take you directly to Union Station!
The KC Streetcar is a free transit option that passes through the Crossroads District, where The Everly and hotel blocks are located! It follows a two-mile route, primarily along Main Street in downtown Kansas City, connecting Kansas City’s River Market area to Crown Center and Union Station. The KC Streetcar has 16 stops spaced every two blocks for northbound and southbound travel. This is a great option to take if you want to explore the city during your stay!
This transit option serves Union Station, the Crossroads Arts District, the Power and Light District, the city’s central business district, and the historic River Market/City Market, along with numerous other businesses, restaurants, art galleries, educational facilities, and neighborhoods.
Our most-frequented area of downtown is the River Market! Fun spots include Harry's Country Club, City Market (farmers market), Betty Rae's Ice Cream, Blue Line Hockey Bar, Brown & Loe, Enzo-Bistro (wine bar), Thou Mayest (coffee/cocktails), Minsky's Pizza, or the Steamboat Arabia Museum.
If you're staying at the Aloft Hotel, the Country Club Plaza is a must-see for shopping and dining!
