Our first date was on July 5th, 2020 and it turned out to be a very hot day. Len took Bob on a picnic in FDR park for their first date. Len packed all kinds of snacks, drinks and games. Thankfully Lenny didn’t just pack wine, he also brought along water bottles and citrus water. Our afternoon of food, drinks, music and games came to an end after sweating it out for a few hours. We both agreed on a second date (this time air conditioning was required). For our anniversary each year we have find a new picnic spot and have never looked back.

The engagement was weeks if not months of planning. We had talked about what it would look like for us and what it meant and who would be doing the proposal (Len) and once that was set the planning began. Now everyone expected the proposal to happen while we were in Iceland and Bob was thinking late summer/early fall because of the talks and hints Len was feeding him. With the help and insight from two great girlfriends the token of a bracelet was decided. Planning began in February with a rough idea. Fast forward to the day Len had this vision in his mind of what’s important and how it should be. Len told both sets of parents and all siblings. With the help of Len’s sisters and friends the day went perfect. It started with fresh shaves and a great lunch in Newtown. Some antiquing in Bristol followed up with a stroll on the water front. Bob was under the assumption he was there to take some family pictures for our nieces and nephews, but we had a different plan. When Bob was taking pictures of the kids, they held up signs while Len got down on one knee. Hands down the easiest decision of Len's life. After the proposal Len said let’s grab a drink before the day continues. We arrived at 1675 Distilling where our friends and family were waiting to surprise and support us. One of the best days in our life.
