Carlsbad State Beach
Our favorite beach that we loved living a block away from for several years! This is a great way to spend the day and parking is generally available along Garfield St and the surrounding side streets. We recommend coming here to hang in the sun, swim, paddleboard, surf, or go on a walk along the path. There are plenty of restaurants, coffee shops, taprooms and shops in walking distance as well!
Stone Brewing World Bistro & Gardens - Escondido
Awesome indoor/outdoor brewery with some great food options as well!
Temecula Valley Wine Country
Temecula has nearly 50 wineries - feel free to take an afternoon to check out a few! Top recommendations include Lorimar Winery, Callaway Winery and Vineyard, Leoness Cellars, and Wilson Creek Winery.
San Diego Zoo Safari Park
The San Diego Zoo Safari Park is an awesome way to spend a day if you have some extra time during your visit. Lots to do including safari tours to see some animals up close.
Old Town Temecula
The Old Town area is about a mile from the hotels we recommend staying at. This area has plenty of shops, restaurants, bars and casual spots to hang out.
Hiking
There are plenty of nice walking and hiking trails in the area. Some recommendations are Santa Margarita River Trail in Fallbrook or Los Jilgueros Preserve in Fallbrook.
