Cameron and Bobby first met browsing for freshman year roommates online. Cameron and a few of his high school friends who were planning on living together come Fall at the University of Kentucky were each looking for a fourth roomie to fill their last spot. Turns out all three returned to school saying they found someone named Bobby they thought would be a good fit because he played volleyball too. The rest is history…

While the first time Cameron and Bobby actually met in person wasn’t so friendly (quick glares across a sweaty gym in between sets from the only time KIVA was able to beat Cincy Attack) things changed quickly from there. Just before moving to Lexington in the Fall of 2015, Cameron made the trip up to Cincinnati for the weekend to meet Bobby’s friends and attend a free concert thanks to the Reds hosting All Star Weekend. They have truly been best friends ever since.

They were inseparable - always together whether it be playing games at a party, raising money for DanceBlue, playing in various volleyball tournaments, studying for their exams, or just hanging out in Haggin Hall. It was the running joke that Cameron and Bobby were more like their own couple instead of just best friends. People always say you should fall in love and marry your best friend. The two didn’t know it at the time but that is exactly what would happen to them.

College years had their ups and downs but for every “down”, Cameron and Bobby always found themselves knowing they were meant to be together. They continued to grow both individually and together. After graduating and starting their respective careers down in Lexington, they started a new chapter by moving to their own apartment up in Cincinnati. Ahhh, roommates again at last. Never to forget the place where their friendship turned love story began 8 years prior- they welcomed home their best gal pal golden retriever Haggin to truly make their house a home.

On August 4, 2023 Cameron finally did the inevitable and asked Bobby to marry him. The two of them are so thankful for every part that has led them here. They have been roommates, best friends, club volleyball rivals, teammates, pong partners, classmates, dance partners, dog dads, and fiancés. Cameron and Bobby are looking forward to adding husbands to that list surrounded by the friends and family they love most dear.
