Our Wedding

Reid and I first met when we were in middle school through our parents, who were and still are great family friends. Our first meeting was during a beach day, where, of course, we did not really talk to each other (boys were still gross and I’m sure girls still had cooties). Fast forward a few years and Reid and I met again our junior year of high school when our parents made plans for our families to catch up and watch one of Reid’s basketball games. Even though I thought he was so cute, Reid and I still did not truly talk to each even during this second meeting. It was not until seeing him play a couple more games that I decided to message him on Twitter (as the cool and hip kids might say I “slid into his DMs”). From there we began to talk nonstop every single day and eventually exchanged numbers which led to texting daily and FaceTiming regularly. About six months after our initial conversation, Reid finally asked me to be his girlfriend! Regardless of our geographical distance, with Reid living about an hour away from me, our relationship continued to blossom. After graduating high school, we both picked colleges in central Texas; Reid began college at Texas State University, and I began college at Our Lady of the Lake University in San Antonio. We were still about an hour apart, but that did not stop us from having fun at college our freshman year and making many cherished memories together. After our first year of college, I transferred to Texas State University to be closer to friends and of course, Reid! We spent all our free time together studying, going to his fraternity events, and having fun at the river. Reid then graduated a semester before me in the fall of 2018 and took a job about 3 hours away from Texas State; however that did not stop us from visiting each other almost every weekend, and it definitely made our relationship stronger. (Here comes the good part!) The first weekend of November this past year (2019), Reid was about to leave for a work trip, but not before we had a cute date day, all planned by Reid! We started with brunch at a place we had never been to before and after that we headed to&nbsp;McGovern Centennial Gardens in Houston where we walked around the gardens and chatted about who only knows what. We ended our walk at the rose garden where Reid walked us under the arches, turned me to him, got down on one knee, and asked me to marry him. After five years of dating my best friend &amp; now one year of being engaged, we will be getting married!&nbsp;

Her POV

Bonnie and I first met in middle school going to a family friend trip to the beach. We didn’t spend too much time talking as we were still very young and girls have cooties. When we reached high school, we were able to reconnect when Bonnie and Cami came to visit my parents at one of my basketball games. After the game, Bonnie and I said hello and both quickly left. On the bus ride home I realized that she had connected with me on social media. Shortly afterwards, she slid into my Direct Messages and we began to talk. We quickly became good friends, talking every day and eventually started hanging out on the weekends. We found out soon afterwards that we had feelings for one another and I asked her to be my girlfriend the day before senior year of high school. We continued to date long distance after our last year of high school as we headed off to separate colleges. Bonnie headed off to San Antonio and I was studying at Texas State. We were able to visit on weekends during our college freshman year, spending much of our time at Texas State. Bonnie decided she wanted to transfer over to TXST and we were finally no longer a long distance couple! We were able to make lots of friends together and between Thursday night Dancehall trips, many BYX events and plenty of Square Squad outings, we had a pretty busy schedule outside of our normal class schedules. But like all good things, college came to an end after my graduation, I started my first job back in Houston. Bonnie still had one more semester at TXST so we had to return back to long distance dating. This gave me plenty of time to go ring shopping and start preparing to propose! After spending the next several months preparing and waiting, Bonnie graduated and moved down to Houston. Finally, on November 2nd I took Bonnie out to a brunch date, telling her that I wanted to do something fun before I left town for a weeklong work trip. We went to a place down in Rice Village and then took a walk through one of the parks in the Museum District. After walking through the park for a while, we spotted a rose garden and decided to walk through there. It was here that I knelt down and asked Bonnie to marry me. After we left the parks, we went to go celebrate our brand new engagement with some family and friends,We are so happy to share our wedding day with you and can’t wait to celebrate with everyone!&nbsp;

Her Girls

Paige has been there all my life, and anyone who has seen us together knows we are much more than just cousins. We have spent countless summers together, played many Nintendo games, survived all the family functions and I got to watch her marry the love of her life just a few years ago. I cannot wait to have her standing up at the alter with me while I marry the love of my life.

Gabby and I decided to be best friends at the age of 3 when she moved to town and we planned to have a sleepover every weekend until we grew old. Roughly 20 years later we have endured many ups-and-downs, long distances, different relationships and every stage of life together. We are more like sisters than friends and I am so excited to go through this next stage of life with my Monica by my side.

Meeting Caitlyn shortly after transferring to Texas State University was such an incredible blessing. We were part of the “BYX Girlfriends” group, but quickly grew a bond separate from that. Having Caitlyn to go through all things BYX with was so much fun and having someone a year ahead of me in the same major was beyond helpful. Caitlyn has been my best partner in crime, and she has been part of some of my favorite college memories. She has been a constant cheerleader and light for me through college and life. I am so happy to get to share yet another special day with this beautiful soul.

I met Shelby through my major halfway through our junior year at Texas State University. Our bond and connection was instant, I feel like we have been friends forever. Shelby and I went through some of the hardest classes and semesters together, but we made it through. We spent practically every day together going on adventures, ice cream dates, taking her pup Otis to all the local dog parks, having many study parties, some crazy nights and countless sleepovers. Shelby is the best gift Texas State has given me; we left college hand-in-hand and I am excited to be hand-in-hand again with my bffffff.

Lizeth and I have been friends since kindergarten and we have remained friends throughout all these years.  We have gone through so much together; lots of sleepovers, fro-yo dates, late night drives, dreaming up our futures and everything in between. I was honored to take Lizeth's senior pictures for her and then I was blessed to have Jonah ask me to take their proposal pictures! It has been such an honor to be part of their love story and to have captured the moment us girls had constantly been dreaming about together. I am so happy we are getting to live out the futures we dreamed about together!

Oh Chels, she was originally one of Reid’s best girl-friends, but I quickly stole her for myself. What started as just school dances, football games, and pep-rally dates (sorry mom, I did in fact fake my illness to go to a BWood pep-rally with Chels) turned into college sleepovers and big life decisions together. Chelsea and I survived being roommates two years in a row and it was the best two years ever. We tried so many new things together, we spent lots of time out by the river and many nights staying up late having movie nights and sleeping in the living room like teenage kids. Chelsea was there at the beginning of Reid and I’s relationship and I’m lucky to say she will be there for the beginning of our marriage and so much more.

Kaitlyn and I have been friends since elementary school and she was there from the very beginning of Reid and I’s relationship. She was my partner in crime in high school, from soccer practices & school dances to washing pigs, brushing cows & rodeo shows; we did it all together! We may now be many miles apart, but that has not stopped us. We always make sure to catch up and see each other when we are back in town, and now we are able to double date with our fiances! I am so excited to watch her marry the man of her dreams and to have her by my side as I marry mine!

Always making the Davies house a madhouse, Cameron and I could be found breaking windows or making our parents crazy. Cam and I have bonded as adults through competition, training and talking about life as my first brother as always been my best friend.

Otto and I also became friends through BYX. We would regularly be found over at his house playing ping pong or getting ready to go out for a night of fun. We got to spend a lot of time together since Caitlyn and Bonnie were such good friends.

Andy and I got to work together on a lot of teams in BYX and also got to be friends really fast. We could always be found playing xbox or joking around at the house. Since college, we frequently get to catch up in Houston on “Andy Dates” where we’ll go out somewhere new on the town.

Andrew (Andy) Reidland

I met Garrett my first year at Texas State and were instantly friends after realizing we were both from Brazoria County. Being in the same pledge class, we got to make many memories fast and quickly became life-long friends.

Zach was one of the first people I met when coming to Texas State. Having similar degrees and being in the same fraternity we were fast friends who enjoyed going to dance halls and concerts.

Connor and I also met through BYX where we regularly could be found at Grins or Taproom talking about throwback 90’s and early 2000’s music. We became good friends while at TXST and still hang out and play xbox all the time.
