Michael and Bonnie originally met in high school (1992/1993) through a mutual friend. They dated briefly and then both amicably went their separate ways. Fast forward to 2022 when Bonnie was working for Progressive Insurance and there was a competition at her work to post pictures from Proms. Bonnie pulled out her photo albums (she is old-fashioned that way) and found a polaroid picture of her and Michael going to a prom. This got her thinking about him and what a nice guy he had been, nicer than most guys she had dated. That led her to wonder what he was up to, mild Facebook stalking, and getting the nerve up to ask him to coffee. Amazingly, when Bonnie asked Michael if the guy in the picture was him, he answered that he recognized the shirt as one that he used to wear, and that looks like him in the photo from a long time ago, but that he couldn't remember taking the picture. He agreed to meet for a coffee, and after a few rescheduling, they met for that fated coffee. They agreed to go out again, and again, and before you know it, they were dating.
Mike knew he wanted to be married to Bonnie within 6 months, but Bonnie was more apprehensive. After having him share her crazy life for a year where he got to witness the aftermath of several surgeries in her household, so many bouts of Covid in the house, flu, and family losses for both of us, Bonnie agreed to consider marriage. After 16 months, Bonnie agreed to marry Mike with the stipulation that she wanted a ceremony in her church and she wanted to be surrounded by family and friends.
