Boyd and I had actually known of each other for awhile before we met. He worked for my brother-in-law in high school. His parents were also neighbors to my sister and brother-in-law for quite a few years.

Fast forward to August 26th, 2023. I was in Nebraska for my niece's wedding. I had told my sister prior to the wedding that she NOT try to set me up with anybody. You can see where this is going... The night was close to being over and I was sitting next to my dad talking. I see out of the corner of my eye, my sister walking towards me with a guy. I remember thinking "you have got to be kidding me. We have gone over this." She proceeds to introduce us and tells me that Boyd wants to dance with me. It was a rap song playing, so I said no. But we struck up a conversation, anyways. Boyd and I talked until 1 or 2 am where he asked for my number. Boyd will also tell you that I kissed him that night, but he's lying...

We both will admit that we never thought we were going to see each other again. Fast forward to the next night. Boyd had asked me on a date, but it happened to be my mom's birthday. So, I had said no. However, one of my nieces texted Boyd and told him he was coming to dinner with us. Boyd ended up, reluctantly, coming. He took me back to my sister's after dinner, but not before we talked until 2 or 3 am.

I came back to Montana, and we continued to talk everyday. I tried to talk myself out of it a few times, but Boyd was pretty persistent.

He asked me to marry him on July 5th. I, of course, said yes. And here we are, ready to get married and party 'til the cows come home.

Our entire relationship has been a whirlwind full of "unexpected" moments. I think that is the best way to explain us, actually.

We cannot wait to celebrate with all our favorite people!!
