Our Wedding

Our Story

We met the modern way, on Hinge! Kristen liked (or swiped) Brad first–a fact he won’t let her forget. Our first date was comprised of burgers, coffee, and tea. The combination brought about a six-hour conversation that neither of us wanted to end. Things moved fast, but it all felt right. We were envisioning a life together immediately. As such, Kristen quickly began looking for work in Fort Worth, a ring was purchased, and we were engaged soon after. The proposal took place during an early morning hike, on a rock ledge overlooking Eagle Mountain Lake. Our love has been real, deep, and full of joy from the start. And it's not just the two of us, either. Brad’s boys, Carter and Camden, absolutely adore Kristen (and the feeling’s mutual). We're building a life full of laughter, trust, and wild, beautiful love. We’re so excited to share the start of forever with all of you!

Laura isn’t just my older sister — she’s my lifelong role model, my built-in best friend, and one of the most important people in my life. She’s been there through every joy and heartbreak, offering wisdom, support, and unconditional love. I couldn’t imagine walking down the aisle without her by my side. Katrina and I met at Texas State in the summer of 2002, and from the very beginning, I knew she was special. Over the years, she’s become so much more than a best friend — she’s my person. The one I call with good news, bad news, and everything in between. Her unwavering love, loyalty, and laughter have carried me through some of life’s hardest moments and made the best ones even sweeter. Having her beside me on this day is something I’ll cherish forever.

Ashley has been by my side since Pearce High School, fall of 1998 — and in so many ways, we grew up together. She’s seen me through every phase of life, always with grace, honesty, and fierce loyalty. Her friendship is one of the greatest gifts I’ve ever been given, and I’m so grateful to share this day with her.

Brooke and I first connected in our Education classes at Texas State in the spring of 2002, and it didn’t take long to realize we were meant to be friends — even if I drove her a little crazy by always talking during class. She’s thoughtful, steady, and incredibly genuine — the kind of friend who just gets you. Her presence in my life has been a true gift, and I’m so honored to share this moment with her.

Sarah and I met in our Education classes at Texas State in the spring of 2002, and what started as a shared love of reading and laying out by the pool quickly turned into a deep and lasting friendship. She has a heart of gold, a contagious laugh, and a way of making people feel instantly at ease. We’ve walked through so much life together, and I’m beyond grateful to have her standing beside me on this day.

Josh isn’t just Brad’s cousin — he’s like a brother. From childhood memories to life’s biggest moments, Josh has been by Brad’s side every step of the way. Loyal, steady, and always ready with a good laugh, Josh was the obvious (and only) choice for best man.

Ricky is Brad’s brother-in-law, married to his sister Robin. Ricky has always shown up for the family, time and time again. Dependable, generous, and grounded, Ricky is the kind of person everyone needs in their corner.

Bradley is a close friend and cousin by marriage — he’s married to Brad’s cousin Natasha. Over the years, Bradley has become true family. Dependable, thoughtful, and quick with a one-liner, he’s the kind of guy every groom hopes to have in their corner.

Jon is one of Brad’s closest long-time friends and coworkers— and someone who helped shape the course of his life. Jon helped Brad land a job at the company he has been with for the past fifteen years. Their friendship has been marked by loyalty, trust, and a whole lot of laughs.

Fredo and Brad met as coworkers and quickly became close friends. Through years of working side by side, their friendship grew beyond the office, and Fredo has remained a constant ever since. He brings a laid-back energy, a sharp sense of humor, and a loyal heart to every room he's in.

What’s the dress code? Think dressy casual with a rustic touch. Sundresses, boots, button-ups, and slacks are all fair game. The venue is outdoorsy and on natural ground, so we recommend comfy shoes.   What time should I arrive? The ceremony starts at 2:00 PM sharp, so please arrive by 1:30 PM to park, get settled, and soak up the vibe before we say “I do!” Reception to follow!   Is the wedding indoors or outdoors? The ceremony and much of the celebration will take place outdoors, so come prepared for the Texas weather. October is usually mild, but we’ll have fans and shade (or blankets and firepits, depending on the day).   Can I bring my kids? We love your little ones, but this will be an adults-only celebration (with the exception of a few family kiddos). We hope you’ll enjoy a night out!   What’s for dinner? BBQ, baby! Come hungry — we’re serving up a hearty Texas-style dinner with sides, sweets, and drinks to match. Vegetarian options will be available too.   Is there parking at the venue? Yes! There is free parking on-site at The Tipsy Toad. You’ll see signs and attendants to guide you once you arrive.   Are there shuttles or transportation options? We are not offering shuttles, so please plan to drive or carpool. If you're staying at one of the nearby hotels in Decatur, it's about a 20-minute drive to the venue.   Can I take photos during the ceremony? We kindly ask that you put your phones away during the ceremony and be fully present with us. Our photographers will capture everything — and we’ll share it all afterward!   Will there be an open bar? We’ll have a selection of free beer, wine and champagne for toasts. Please drink responsibly and plan a safe ride if needed.   Where should I stay? We’ve reserved a block of rooms at La Quinta – Decatur under “King/Amy Wedding.” Book by September 25 to get the special rate!   Still have questions? We recommend booking early, especially if you’re planning to make a weekend of your time in Fort Worth!
