Our Wedding

It was amazing that our paths ever crossed at our local gym, given Brady had joined the Army a couple years prior and could’ve been moved to a base located anywhere. Turns out his base in Tacoma was just close enough to our mutual hometown for him to make the long drive back on the weekends. I’d become a regular at the gym he already frequented, but it took me a while to realize I was only seeing this guy working out on the weekends. After a few spaced out conversations I started to piece his routine together. I even attempted to line up my own workouts with his anticipated weekend lifts, and a handful of times I was successful. We would small talk at the gym often, but we were both inexperienced flirts too nervous to make the bold first move. It took an instagram direct message chain and many more workouts before I braved up enough to stop dropping hints and ask him out. He accepted, and we were officially a couple soon after. We did a year of medium distance dating where our time face to face was limited to the weekends. Brady would get off work and drive a few hours home to hangout with me, granted he wasnt busy doing field training or other military drills. We stayed in touch well during the week days, both eager for quality time. October of 2024, after a year and a half of this routine, Brady asked me to marry him. He teamed up with my sister and deviously surprised me. I thought I had planned a quick trip to eastern Oregon to go visit her, and on a beautiful lakeside hike I said yes to his big question. That same month, he fulfilled his army contract and moved home. Living nearby each other these last several months has only been made sweeter by being engaged. Next up, married! - Debby
