I am traveling to Louisville for the wedding - where should I stay?
We have a large hotel block placed for our guests at the Sheraton hotel - please refer to the Travel tab above for more information!
Will there be free parking?
Yes!
Saint James Catholic Church has roughly 40-50 parking spots behind the Saint James Catholic School (next door to the church). There is also lots of street parking available on Edenside Avenue and Baringer Avenue.
The Refinery has over 1000 parking spots available for guests. We recommend parking in one of the lots near the water tower, as the entrance into the Refinery South is right next to the tower.
What time should I arrive for the ceremony?
Due to this being a formal, Catholic ceremony, we request that you please arrive 15 minutes before our ceremony time. The church doors will be closed promptly at 5 pm.
Is it okay if I skip the wedding ceremony and only attend the reception?
Our wedding ceremony is the heart of our marriage and the most important part of the day for us. We completely understand that not everyone is able or comfortable attending a Catholic Mass, but in order to respect the meaning of the day, the reception is reserved for those who are able to join us for the ceremony as well.
What should I wear? Is there a dress code?
We are encouraging a spring, cocktail-style dress code. All pastels, florals, and spring-oriented dresses and suits are loved and appreciated!
Are children welcome?
Due to our reception venue's maximum capacity, unfortunately, we cannot accommodate all of the wonderful children we have in our lives. Please refer to your invite and RSVP. If you have any concerns, please reach out, and we will accommodate as best as possible!
Can I bring a plus one?
Please refer to your invite for information on whether a guest is included! If you have any issues, please reach out, and we will accommodate if we can.
Is the reception actually in Indiana?
Yes, although this may seem unusual, our church ceremony venue is just a 10-minute drive from our reception venue in Jeffersonville, Indiana. Just hop across the toll-free, 2nd Street bridge, and you will be right there.
