Our Wedding

Our Story

We met in the most romantic of places…a grocery store, and although our story is not one of me needing help reaching something from a tall shelf and Stephen coming to my rescue, it is still special! Stephen and I were both quite shy, so for the first 2 years of us working in the same store our interactions never made it past catching one another staring over to the other’s department and occasionally locking eyes only to look away immediately and blush profusely. After the 2 years of back and forth we finally started talking online and eventually went on a date only to realize that we didn’t have much in common, and that my life style was very fast compared to his. We went on 3 dates that summer, and after the last one neither of us sent the other a message, and we seemed to fizzle out and go our separate ways. During the fall I made some major changes to my life, I slowed down and stopped going out as much, I worked on myself and my priorities, and during that time Stephen’s life was also going through changes. He bought a house, and got a new girlfriend who brought him out of his shell more, but ultimately didn’t end up working out, and by the winter time we were both once again looking for something, but this time it felt more serious. Stephen messaged me on January 1st of 2020 and we caught up on our past few months. I told him about how I stopped going out as much and he told me about how he bought a new house and needed someone to help make it a home. We went on a movie date a week or so later, and the connection between us was totally different from the first times we hung out. We started talking daily, and in less than 2 months had made our relationship official. About 2 weeks after we became boyfriend and girlfriend the world shut down due to Covid, but we really didn’t mind as the only people we were interested in seeing were each other. We spent many nights in watching movies or eating ice cream or playing Animal Crossing. We pretty much quarantined together since we worked in the same store, and by the time that summer came around and restrictions were easing up I officially made the move into his house to start making it ours. About a month after moving in together we grew our family by four little paws and brought home our baby beagle Gus who I can’t help but to compare to a baby Tasmanian Devil. The next few months really launched us into finding out wether or not we could co-parent, it seemed like every time we turned around something new was chewed up, or there were turds on the floor, or he had escaped his crate (or worse the house), or he was howling for food, or love, or maybe just to hear himself howl, I still don’t know… We made it through the puppy days together, and when we finally saw the light at the end of the tunnel we decided to do it all over again and bring home our big, fluffy goofball Louie who also turned out to be quite a handful, but once again we made it. The next year on a trip to the city for what was supposed to be Stephen’s very first concert (although it was cancelled due to the artist getting Covid) we stopped at Risser’s Beach (one of my favourite spots on earth) and took a walk down the beautiful boardwalk. When we were nearing the end, Stephen dropped to one knee and pulled out the ring I had been eyeing up since we first got together, and of course I said yes. Over the past 2 years we were able to plan a beautiful wedding, adopt 3 kitties (one of which didn’t make it), go on a few little get away’s, and just enjoy each other’s company in general. We’re SO excited to start this next chapter together, and to keep growing our perfect little family!! 🤍🖤
